Easdale Island The Good Life!Reuse Recycle free cabinet.
Easdale Island is a much loved and magical place full of love from this communtiy .
So we have a private Islander messenger and so saw this cabinet as you can see form the pictures its rather tatty but hey! treasure is treasure right .
I see the beauty in all things and this is no different ,i mean i would have loved to preserve the wood but had not much time for that and was feeling that my items would look better rather than wood on wood i know as i have tried this .
Anyhooo ….
so after collecting it on my wheelbarrow me and my lovely boyfriend i set about hoovering it first all the cobwebs.
After that as i didn’t explain in the video as such i used a mix of bicarbonate of soda and vinegar ,scraped the top as it was quite grim and grimy then set about cleaning it and was rather dirty ,but brought alot of it off .
I will be honest i needed a quick turn around and would highly recommend sanding it down to key it .
Chalk paint white i got a 750ml tin from homebase was reduced hoooraaah! so actually only cost £7.50 to change this beauty .
There is a piece of wood that was cut out and i am waiting once the rain stops to pick it up from another Islander, some plywood to fix this however for now i have used two lids from my boxes to put me on .
So living on an Island is about giving and recieving too and an open mind to all that is.
feel free to check out my goodies too my art in here on with some new stuff too pretty soon and the shop is doing rather well .
So grateful an idea over night it shows what you can do when you don’t allow a monkey mind set and a heart full of love for self and others …..
and funny thing happened when i brought the cabinet in i had left the door open and was actually closed yesterday ,well i do need a day off !balance is key .
Customers were walking in the house ahahaha and ended up with more sales unexpected ,super gratful like too .
An idea a vision become reality in flow when you trust.

Easdale Island The Good Life! pop up Art Gallery
After meditation the other night it bubbled forth as i sat in my creative room ,my eureka moment …
Why not turn my room into a shop art gallery ,well it makes sense there are no shops galleries or gift shops on the Island ,and it’s a way of generating some cash flow till i build more on line too.
I mean i already have everything to do it ,i have my art and sculptures ,a table and i’m kitted out to do it so hey voila!
So i already made a start on little white cottages a bit of a signature of the Island and they are rather cute.
Got loads of ideas since being here a renewed creative vigour ,this and my allotment which i must crack on with my shed once more.
This room my boyfriend disliked as it rather lacked any form of life ,a total square, grey carpet, white walls and a tiny window ,it simply shows you what you can do in turning a lack lustre room to such creative Love and vibrancy of colour.
Here in my vlog you can see for yourself anyway.
Not forgetting i have a group i share my journey with others and we exchange ideas too.

Easdale Island The Good Life! Communtiy Coal Day
Like a storybook scene from the pied Piper all following with our wheelbarrows.
A white t-shirt and early morning jog wasn’t the best thing to do before Community Coal Day being, anyhoo so yes i forgot ,actually in my defence i never know what day or time we are on its what happens in present moment .
Having only met a few on our arrival on the Island today we certainly got the chance to meet most of the Island community and a joy they all are ,well it’s not like there’s a herd of us, having said that today oh the joys so it was really rather well organised the ferry man long standing community member checked all paper work no seperation here which was a joy to see all of us working really well together we all started full of zest and bags of energy ( haha you get it )and actually we had wheelbarrows ,we have a little buggy on site one of the neighbours other than that its wheelbarrow and brute strength ,i think we all did bloody amazing i’m so impressed by the unconditional love for one another here ,i shit you not it really has made me see how wonderful we beings can co-create together in unity and respect for one another .
Without further ado no point me rambling the pictures and videos have it all .
It was like we had actually been in the coal mines by the time we had finished and then finished off by pie and peas at a neighbours house with much gratitude to all who kindly gave love and there strength and time .
Easdale Island The Good Life! A Room With A View
Hellooo me hearties so it’s summer here and we have had glorious weather so far considering we live on an Island off the coast of Scotland Called Easdale Island if your not familar to my blog well now you know feel free to check out earlier blogs will fill you in on the island .
without furthur a do it’s been 6 weeks since moving here and oh my days i actually can’t believe how much i have achieved so much ,set up home pretty much unpacked ,2 gardens and an allotment which is ongoing of course .
So this room it’s oh my maybe 8”x 8” pretty square and only has a tiny window ,my partner is not too keen simply the fact it lacks life and energy of which i have sorted doesn’t take long , i decided to go the full hog and go big like really big with a huge murial on the wall well you will see of course and clearly my theme is underwater as i’m a driftwood artist and love the sea .
I have to say i love it after been a bit rocky with my art recently and had lost all will of why no one gets my art or purchases it so much i live in the hope others will see the value of what i do and how much love i have put into everything i make ,so this and a lovely message i woke up to this morning from a friend reminding me of what works i have done and achieved so far has ignited my passion and get up go and move forwards .
I didn’t video it all as i got plans to run some more courses ,i already have a course on driftwood and seashells and 3 art makes which is a step by step written and videos .
I Digress somewhat its all done from recycled paints and my own magic mixing plus some tester paint pots and some great pens i have in a vas array of colours imagination and boom .
It’s a kinda magic magic
have a gander at my Turnstyle Mcqs page here has a vast amount of art/sculptures.
oh and also have a facebook group for Art/sculpture and life on an island .

Easdale Island The Good Life ! The Shed .
Now I know why they call a shed a shed ,well originally used to house animals ha says alot really mooo lol, more commonly now used for garden storage however the ever increasing spiral of life they are more used for work at home or maybe blogging like i could do be inspired by the stunning views.
So to fill you in somewhat i kindly managed to recieve an allotment by the laws of the universe like within a day or two of moving to the Island so was definitely meant to be so,so been focusing on well unpacking from moving here growing and seeding and the allotment till now .
I inherited the Shed it literally is a Shed most people probably throw it away but hey i am on an Island and thats not an option ,its the place were you make do or reuse recycle upcycle whatever cycle lol.
My determination to get this Shed upright was all i was bothered about right now and focus on getting it upright and not rickety its very much a working progress right now as you will see from my vlog more ,to be continued of course im going to keep you in suspense makes a gripping tale apparently .
Easdale Island The Good Life! Recycling Candle Holders Part 1
Being a creative artist has put me in good stead in actuality i have always recycled or upcycled my flat back in Blackpool was all from charity shop or preloved shops ,so im no virgin to this sort of thing.
in this first vlog you will see i inherited these candle holders and i show you how to take the candle wax off i could have done with some wire wool however i am on an Island and this is the point use what you have , so this is done in two parts this being the first.
Easdale Island The Good Life! Recycled Candle Holder Part 2
In this second vlog part 2 i show you how and what spray to use ,highly recommend doing this outdoors away from cars or washing lol.
Easdale Island The Good Life! First Day Beachcombing on the Island.
Realised this vlog is like a silent movie lol, anyway silence is good to take in all parts and aspects of the inspiration of the sea but also the shapes ,patterns there is everywhere on the slate, rocks, seaweed.
So on this Island its a slate Island and back in mid to late 1800’s it was once a slate Island and quite abundant in its time although will elaborate more on the Island in the next blog !!
What there is on this beach is an abundance of slate having being a mined Island ,however some locals said “there isn’t any driftwood”i beg to differ i mean i haven’t found alot but still more than happy, however it also is not driftwood season which is usually winter and well it’s June .
I have found is an abundant amount of Limpet seashells and theres a few scallop seashells ,lots of seakelp seaweed which when dry in the sun bleaches and becomes white and can be used in art,oh and the real joy is that the slate everywhere is covered in pyrite which is classed as fools gold although my beliefs are very different about pyrite of course if you know me well.
Because it’s an Island well no shit sherlock but you can walk all the way around it too i’m only scratching the surface and my reckoning with a good hardy coat for winter there will be lots of driftwood infact an abundant supply of it ,oh and found the odd seaglass ,the adventure for me is so so good, some of my favorite films were swashbuckling i’m truly loving it ,so far it’s being open minded and embrace each day with an open and joyful heart and my heart is pretty full of joy !!.
Easdale Island The Good Life ! The Arrival Moving Day.
Started by the removals at Oban collecting our wares accross to Ellenabeich ferry or rather a boat not the usual boat that goes to and from the island but a big Seafari one as you will see from the vlog ,oh my days when this arrived it was rather exciting ,we had to wait in between other boats to and fro to Ellenabeich ,getting our boxes and goods on the boat was pretty impressive actually ,all hands on deck excuse the pun ,but really was like ants all working together for a goal of achievement to get to heaven .
You will see from the vlog the footage.
Once we arrived at the other side oh my word even more extra hands helping, so a call went out to the Islanders and we had loads appear from the little pure houses ,kindly helping us as strangers , even a 4 wheel cart on the Island ,so grateful to all who made this possible you know who you are.
I’m Buggered after a long day i learned unconditional love from others ,patience more patience,to let go and be in flow ,trust the process.
Have you ever done cooking with a hunt for red October or rather hunting in boxes as i had promised my other half a leak and potato soup ,i manged to peel and chop with a kitchen knife, no blender coudn’t find it but a fork mashed it and a bit of cornflour ,that and part baked crusty rolls ,hey i tell you it was pretty damn scrummy or maybe more appreciation for adapting to the circumstances anyhoo its stunning here was sunny all day seas were calm and all is well on Easdale Island The Good Life!
